Apply For A Government Grant: Can Anyone Apply?

By admin On December 18, 2009 Under Grants From The Government

Here’s a fact that may surprise you: Almost anyone can apply for a government grant! Look the big corporations received their share and while most of us received our stimulus checks, those funds probably did not go very far. But how do you go about getting your hands on some of that money?

Being approved for government cash grants is the best gift because it does not need to be repaid, ever. It is not a loan and so it’s not tied to your credit score or rating. Having a bankruptcy on your record also does not exclude you from being approved. It does matter though if you owe the IRS, but other than that, virtually anybody is eligible to apply.

Generally speaking, if you are over the age of 18 and a US citizen or legal resident, you can apply for a government grant. Most people labor under the mistaken impression that one has to be needy or have a business that employs others in order to get approved for these grants. This is simply not the case. Just about anybody is eligible for some type of aid or another – all you have to do is to apply.

Grants from the government are available for small business owners, the self-employed, people who want to go to college or further their education in some way, and even to help pay your utilities. The only thing is that finding and applying for a grant is not always easy. You need to do your research in order to know how to apply for a government grant the right way.

Fortunately there are websites such as National Grant Secrets and Dollar Grants that can help you wade through the many, many different grants that are available to find the one that is just right for you.
